WHERE DO I COLLECT MY KEYS FROM? Contact us to let us know what date you want to move in, this date should be either the starting date of the contract or a later one, and we will arrange to meet you on at the property at a suitable time, between 10AM and 4PM. We will then give you the keys in exchange for any monies outstanding on the deposit and your first months rent. You will also need to confirm receipt of the inventory by email (see below).
CAN'T COLLECT YOUR KEYS? If you can't collect your keys personally you can authorise a friend or housemate to collect them for you. You just need to confirm this in writing to us beforehand by sending us an email. Whoever you authorise will need to bring their ID with them and you must ensure your first rent payment is made prior to the collection.
IS THERE AN INVENTORY FOR THE PROPERTY? Yes, we use a software package called InventoryPlus to help us to compile an accurate inventory listing, this includes comments and photographs of the property, furniture, furnishings and equipment we provide. We will send you a copy of the inventory either in advance of or on your move in day. You will need to follow the steps as listed in your email to confirm receipt of the inventory before we will have over the keys. You will then have 7 days to review the listing and the items within the property, if you wish to make comments or have queries, you can do so within the software package. The inventory should be a full, accurate and complete listing of the condition of the property and the furnishings and we welcome any comments you make.
ARE THERE MANUALS FOR THE CENTRAL HEATING? Yes, each house has a house file which contains manuals for the heating, hot water and where possible microwave, washing machine etc. If you have any problems operating any of the systems you only have to ask for help and we will either explain it remotely or pop around.
WHAT ABOUT THE GAS, ELECTRICITY AND INTERNET? Everything will be setup and ready to use! The passcodes for the wifi are on the noticeboards in the communal areas. We will be taking meter readings as part of your checkin process and will ask you to supply meter readings once a month. Please be aware we expect you to be a responsible user of the utilities during your time in the house - don't leave the heating on and open the windows!
INSURANCE You will need to make arrangements to insure your own contents at the property.
NEED TO BUY ACCESSORIES TO KIT OUT YOUR NEW HOME? We are within easy distance of Morrisons, Ikea and Sainsburys - between the three you can buy pretty much anything you want (including duvets, sheets, pots, pans, plates, cutlery, food, etc). If you need to know what we provide in advance of move in day just send us an email. If you are looking for a hassle free way to shop there are websites such as UniKitOut which you can order from and have items delivered directly to your door.
DEPOSIT RETURNS It seems strange to talk about moving out just as you're moving in. But, lots of new tenants ask us about their deposits. If you have a question, you will probably find the answer on our page about frequently asked questions about deposits.
